A periodical is a type of publication that is published in a series at regular intervals or periodically. Examples include journals, newspapers, magazines, and newsletters. A scholarly periodical such as a journal or scholarly peer reviewed journal is aimed at specialists and researchers which includes articles written by experts in the subject area.
