An abstract is a summary of a scholarly article, which uses the same level of technical language as the main body of the article. It will generally outline the purpose, scope, and methods used in the article; and can also contain a brief description of the results, conclusions, and recommendations of the article. This will help you decide if the article is relevant to your research needs.
