Does ExamSoft store any of my data or passwords?

Answer

All data transfers between the software on the student’s computer and the university’s instance of ExamSoft are encrypted and occur over a secure connection. All recordings, made for the purposes of invigilation, are securely stored in password protected systems. ExamSoft has taken the necessary precautions to safeguard against malicious attacks and minimised the risk of data being accessed by unauthorised persons.

Recording (or monitoring) is only enabled from the time you start a test until the time you complete the test. During that time, you should have no need to access any other software (or lock or unlock your computer) which may require a password or other sensitive material to be typed or entered. The software clearly displays when monitoring is occurring, and you can view what is being recorded by your camera at any time while monitoring is occurring.

ExamSoft are committed to never selling your personal data under any circumstances.  There are a limited number of specific circumstances where disclosure of personal data may occur, and the ExamSoft Privacy Policy outlines these clearly. Such disclosures are reasonable and appropriate, and are in-line with international privacy standards and legal requirements.
