The library defines required and recommended readings as the following:

Required - Learning resources that are essential to your Course.

The Library will provide access to required resources through our discovery service FiNDit and/or reading list platform Leganto. The Library will aim to provide online access to all required books subject to their availability and where cost is not prohibitive, but the Library cannot guarantee online access to required books at all times. If it is not possible to purchase titles as eBooks, the Library will purchase a set number of copies in print for the relevant campus/es. If neither option is possible, this will be communicated to the Course Coordinator.

These resources may also be referred to as textbooks or essential reading.

Recommended - Additional learning resources that are useful, but not essential to your Course.

For recommended books, articles and other resources the Library will aim to provide online access subject to availability and where cost is not prohibitive. If it is not possible to purchase an eBook, one copy of the book will be supplied in print for the relevant campus/es subject to availability.

These resources may also be referred to as supplementary reading.
