To cite a virtual or hybrid conference, use the reference format for a traditional conference. If the conference has no physical location, just omit the location information from the reference. As usual, include the bracketed description in the title of the reference. Although the conference may be online only, don't add words such as "virtual," "online," or other variations to the title, bracketed description, or any part of the reference. The official name of the conference, which may include one of those phrases, is included in reference, followed by the URL, when applicable.
