Surnames that contain prefixes or particles are spelled and capitalised according to the preference of the persons named, for example:

1. van Wilder G, de la Renta O.

2. Al-Faquih PT.

3. Parker-Bowles C.

While hyphens are retained for last names, the same does not apply to first names. When a name contains a hypen, both initials appear. For example, Mary-Lou Retton would be Retton ML.
