The hyperlinks in my Word document appear as network paths and I can't change them

In Microsoft Word (2016), follow these instructions:

1. In your Word document, click the File tab, then Options.
2. In the left menu, choose Advanced.
3. Under the Show document content section, untick Show field codes instead of their values.
4. Click OK.

Alternatively, try the following:

1. Press Ctrl+A to select all text.

2. Press Ctrl+Shift+F9.

Mac

In MS Word for Mac, please go to Preferences > View > uncheck Show field codes.
