This message generally appears if you are using a Windows device. Any wording regarding a trial for EndNote generally means the software has been installed incorrectly. As the installation file is a zip file, rather than 'opening' the file, you need to extract it.

You will need to delete the EndNote folder from your device and install the correct extracted version.
