We recommend starting your search via FiNDit on the University Library website. However, there are multiple options for accessing Library online resources wherever you are, through the Library's access management service OpenAthens.

  • Search FiNDit - this will search across all our databases as well as our print materials for information, articles and other resources for your assignments.
  • Consult the Subject Guide for your discipline - this contains recommendations of the most useful databases, websites and resources for your research.
  • Browse our eResources page - if you know which databases are most relevant, you can go to them directly and conduct more targeted searches on your topic.
  • Log in from the publisher platform - use the OpenAthens authentication option
  • Install the browser extension LibKey Nomad - this will identify if the Library has access to e-resources while you are browsing the internet, and provide direct access to a PDF if access is available.
When accessing databases off campus you will need to log in using your Notre Dame username and password.

If your username or password fails, contact your Campus IT Support and request to have your password reset.
