Like all university libraries, the Library imposes a financial penalty upon borrowers who fail to return loans to create an incentive to honour the agreement borrowers make when they loan the materials.

Library fines are as follows:

  • Standard and equipment loans do not receive fines (unless the item is recalled), however borrowing privileges will be suspended until overdue item/s are returned. Community borrowers will be fined $1.00 per day on overdue standard loan items.
  • Fines for recalled items are $3.00 per day per item.
  • Fines for course reserve items are $2.00 per hour or part thereof. For example, an item due at 2pm will be fined $2.00 if returned at 2:30pm.
