Over the last few years, library staff have been working on acquiring a new management system that will allow us the opportunity to improve many of our services. We are very excited about some of the new features that we’ll be able to bring to you, as well as changes to our existing services that will better reflect your needs. This includes longer borrowing periods for research students, automatic renewals, streamlined searching and request services, saying goodbye to Summon and introducing a brand new discovery service.

This is what you need to know:

  1. While we transition to this new service across the rest of the year, items borrowed in semester two won’t be due back until 22nd November 2020  (excluding Closed Reserve, recalled and interlibrary loan items)
  2. Print materials (e.g. books and DVD’s) can still be found through Summon, but you won’t be able to see their availability or request them for the moment. This means that if you can’t find a book on the shelf, ask your library staff for their assistance.
  3. We’ll still be using Summon for the rest of this semester, and you won’t see that change until November 2020.

We’ll give you more updates throughout the rest of the year, and in the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please send them to askus@my.nd.edu.au
