Q. Can't find anything in Summon
You really need to expand what youre funding. I have spent over 5 hours trying to sources and all i get is "citation online". it adds extra stress and totally unnecessary. This is part of my tuition fees and I expect maximum funding on AVAILABLE scholarly sources.
Thank you for your feedback. We have investigated the issue and have found that the Summon administrator default settings have been changed by the vendor without informing us: they have been erroneously set to include "results beyond your library's collections".
Having this box checked allows Summon to scrape national and international catalogues, databases and the internet for content matching your search, and no single library would hold all this content.
Our Library Online Services team have now changed this setting, but it will take up to 24 hours to restore. To correct this yourself, uncheck the box at the top of your results list.
May I take this opportunity to assure you that the University is fully committed to providing optimum funding for scholarly sources, and Library staff work very hard to maximise the allocated budget across all disciplines. In recent years the University Library has undergone an external benchmarking review and was highly commended for the resource coverage it provides compared to other universities.
