  1. Is the references mentioned in the main body of your work included with regards to Harvard referencing? For example, "A flower is a geometric pattern" (David and Goliath, 1990). Does this mean the text (David and Goliath, 1990) is not included in the word count?

  2. Although in-text citations are usually included in your word count, your reference list or bibliography are not included in that word count.
