Ebrary has a highlight function, but you need to be logged in to use it. This allows you to mark words or passages with one of three colours as you read. Once you have done this, you can generate a list of highlights. It's also possible to copy and paste the highlighted text into a text document.
It is not possible to automatically highlight all instances of a word using this function (you would need to individually mark each passage), but there is an easy way to show all instances of a word. Simply do a search for the word(s) you want, and they will appear with a grey background throughout the text. You will not be able to create a list or copy and paste, but this does make it easier to find the passages you want to highlight (see above).
