Ensure that your EndNote Library is open.

Option 1:

  • Select the required citations in PubMed by checking the corresponding boxes and then click 'Send To'.
  • Select 'Citation Manager' by clicking on the radial button
  • The references should automatically be imported into your EndNote Library and will show as "Imported References".
  • Check & amend references if needed, e.g. if full name of journal required for your referencing style.

Option 2:

  • Select the required citations by checking the corresponding boxes and then click 'Send To'.
  • Click the File button and then select Format > Medline > Create File.
  • Save the file somewhere (eg. Desktop).
  • In EndNote go to File > Import > File, and browse for the file you have just saved.
  • In the Import Option drop down box choose 'PubMed (NLM)' - you will have to go to 'Select Another Style' the first time to find this.
  • Click 'Import' and your citations will go to your EndNote library.
  • Check & amend references if needed, e.g. if full name of journal required for your referencing style.
