As a first step look in some of the legal history textbooks; check in the index for terms like "court history" or "court ritual". You can find these textbooks by searching the Library FiNDit FiNdit for "law history".

You could then try searching FiNDit for "legal history" or "courts history". This will produce many results from books/ebooks and journal articles. You can narrow your search to scholarly journals or by topic on the left hand side. If full text is available, a link will be provided that will allow you to read the article. If you haven't used FiNDit before have a look at the Help information to improve relevance of results when searching.

Now look at some of our law eResources:

  • HeinOnline is an excellent resouce with good coverage of legal history topics - this is a good starting point
  • Legal encyclopedias and dictionaries (found in our Law Subject Guide).

If you need further help finding relevant information, please contact the library.
