Are there any cases where judicial appointment is discussed?

I am researching possible reforms to the current Australian appointment system.

Answer

The best strategy for your research would be to locate journal articles (secondary sources) on judicial appointment in Australia and the need for reform. These articles would most likely refer to any relevant cases. If necessary, you could also search the case citators Casebase (within LexisNexisAU) and Firstpoint (in WestlawAU).

AustLII is another great resource for legal research. In Advanced Search mode, you can limit your searching to secondary sources (which includes Law Reform Commission publications plus law journals).

You could also try searching Informit, which focuses on Australian content, and indexes law materials as well as other resources. You can restrict your searching to law databases by clicking the "Change Database" link.

Our Law Subject Guide's 'Secondary Sources' tab has links to these and other resources.
