Try the following:

  • Check the (Fremantle) AL100 subject guide (below) for relevant sources of information
  • Keyword searches in Summon:
    • Gallipoli
    • ANZAC
    • World War, 1914 - 1918
    • Australian and New Zealand Army Corps

To construct a more efficient search, combine terms using phrase searching (" "), truncation (*) and/or Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT), eg:

"World War, 1914-1918" AND Australia* AND Gallipoli

This search string is finding the exact phrase World War, 1914-1918, all variations on the word Australia (eg Australia's, Australians, Australian etc), as well as the word Gallipoli. The AND operator ensures that only results with all those terms and phrases are returned.

To find just books, click the limiter on the left hand side of the Summon window that says Books/eBooks.  To find eBooks only, click "Full Text Online" as well.

To find only articles, click the Journal Articles limiter, plus "Full Text Online" and "Scholarly & Peer Review".
