How do I give an in text reference the book of Genesis in the actual body of the essay?

Answer

AGLC3 is predominantly concerned with citing legal materials and these rules have to be manipulated to make them work for religious texts.

Quick Notes:

  • Biblical books are stated in full in the body of your essay (ie. Genesis) do not italicise the book.
  • If you are referring to Chapter and verse in the body of your essay  the rule is Book Chapter:Verse  ie.  Leviticus 19:15
