Why can I smell cigarette smoke through the St Benedict's Library (Broadway) Air conditioning. I can't seem to get away from it, no matter which
I can't find the appropriate feedback page to ask this question in - I have updated my laptop to el capitan & the feedback page seems to not be working so I am asking this question here.
** The cigarette smoke seems to be coming in to the library air-con, instead of it being extracted out. This has been happening for the 18 months I have been here, I've just decided to say something about it. At first I thought it was because I sat near the windows but it's even in the bathrooms and in the central areas of the library. Perhaps the air intake for the a/c is near a designated smoking area? It's quite off-putting when I need to spend long hours here.
Thank you for your time.
While we have 'No Smoking' signs outside the library, this unfortunately does not deter some students from smoking on the street outside the library . This in turn does allow the smell of smoke to make its way into the quiet study area and into other parts of the library. Please note that library staff do occasionally police this area and requests have been made for the ash trays to be moved further away to discourage smoking.
St Benedict's library will continue to to work towards finding a permanent solution to this problem.
We apologise for the inconvenience and discomfort caused.
