For some reason, I am consistently unable to place books on hold via the online system, can you please explain why?

I have tried to request books from the main collection a number of times and I always get a message to say the book cannot be held even though it is available and not in closed reserve.

To place a request an item, the following criteria must be met:

  • A copy of the item must be held on the same campus that you are enrolled at
  • Currently checked out (on loan)
  • Standard loan item only
  • If there is another copy of the item available, you will be unable to perform the request

Please note a request cannot be placed on an item that is 'checked in' and available on the library shelf.
