Answer

Different ebook platforms have different ways to print or copy sections.  You do not need to download or sign in to use these functions on campus.

Instructions for two of our major ebook platforms are outlined below. All ebook providers are able to keep track of the amount of printing or copying you do per title: they will allow you to print/copy in accordance with Part VB of the Copyright Act 1968.

EBL

From the buttons at the top of the ebook page, choose either copy or print

  • If printing, choose the current page, a range of pages or the chapter(s).  After clicking the appropriate button, a PDFwill be created.  Open the PDF to print, or save to a location of your choice.
  • If you wish to record only a few lines, copying is the most useful function. EBL will allow only part or 1 page to be copied at a time.  Highlight the appropriate text, right click and choose Copy.  If you wish to copy multiple pages, use the printing option (above).

Ebrary

From the icons at the top of the ebook page, choose either copy or print

  • If printing, choose the current page, a range of pages or the chapter. Choose a citation style so that your printout contains a reference for the title you are accessing.  When you click Continue, a PDFwill be created.  Open the PDF to print, or save to a location of your choice.
  • If you wish to record only a few lines, copying is the most useful function. Ebrary will allow only part or 1 page to be copied at a time.  Highlight the appropriate text, choose the Copy icon (also in a pop-up), and use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-C to copy the text.  If you wish to copy multiple pages, use the printing option (above).
